Merely my opinion looking at the final teams.  I did not take into account value on picks or even look at when players were selected.  Enjoy and I'm sure I will jinx all the teams I placed at the top 🙂

Team A:

This team is intriguing with a ton of upside, but some key areas are not established and could be trainwrecks.  Luck should bounce back and the QB situation is fine.  RB looks like a ton thrown at the wall with Hyde/Yeldon not established, Foster injured, and the bench uninspiring.  The WRs are excellent with a mix of upside (Perriman/Austin,) and established presences (Brown, Hilton, Fitzgerald).  TE leaves a lot to be desried if ASJ can’t bounce back.

Team B:

Team B has solid starters, and some WR depth to boot, but will need some health at RB to sustain.  The QB trio of Palmer, Bridgewater, and Kaepernick will work out just fine, while the RB trio of Bell, Miller, and Lacy/Starks should be great.  There is a lack of RB depth and injuries to any of those (who all have a history,) could be treacherous.  The WRs should work out with a lot being tossed at the wall.  Cobb and Maclin are solid, even if neither will provide WR1 numbers, but players like Randle, Hurns, Diggs, etc could turn out to be pleasant surprised and WR2 or flex plays through the year.  TE is a mess with neither option (Rodgers or Miller,) being guaranteed anything.  They will need to hunt the waiver wire to sustain.

Team C:

Team C is solid all around with enough balance to do a lot of damage.  Ben Roethlisberger & Joe Flacco will get the job done.  At RB, Mark Ingram and Giovanni Bernard will provide consistent numbers while the upside of the Cleveland RB situation (Johnson/Crowell,) is a good risk to take.  WR is excellent.  Beckham & Cooper could both be WR1s while the upside of Brown, Jones, and Treadwell give incredible depth.  TE is iffy, but Charles Clay should provide consistent numbers and Kyle Rudolph still has some upside.

Team D:

Team D could really explode if their young players work out, but the RBs will need some lucky.  Russell Wilson is a very good starter, while nabbing Todd Gurley provides a stud who should be a top 5 RB. The rest of the RBs are a bit of a mess, but Jay Ajayi, Melvin Gordon, and Charles Sims all have RB2 upside, so if one or two hit, the team will be set.  WRs have a great balance.  From veteran starters Marshall/Thomas to young upside of Parker/Funchess, and some vet bye week fill-ins in Smith/Vjax, the WRs should work out.  Julius Thomas and Coby Fleener are a fine TE duo to play match-ups.

Team E:

Team E seems very good with big upside as long as the QB situation works itself out.  Kirk Cousins and Tyrod Taylor ended last year well and could be streaming options at QB, or they could flop ultimately.  The RB situation has a lot of potential being thrown at the wall.  Adrian Peterson is a solid RB1 and Jeremy Langford has opportunity at the very least.  The rookie trio of Henry/Dixon/Booker should have at least one player put up RB3 numbers while Danny Woodhead is a fine fill-in as needed.  WRs aren’t deep, but Nelson, Jeffery, and Decker should all be weekly starters.  Kendall Wright is a decent depth play.  Jordan Reed is an excellent TE option if he stays healthy.

Team F:

Solid all around team that could do some real damage if they find consistent RB production.  The QB platoon of Rivers, Ryan, and Tannehill can be streamed.  LeSean McCoy’s off field issues will be key, as if he plays 16 games, the RBs should be set.  Zeke Elliott should be a first round draft pick and a workhorse for whatever team he goes to.  Justin Forsett and Alfred Blue are decent depth who could be starting for their given teams.  The WRs are excellent. Julio, Kelvin, and Sanders will be a solid trio with the upside of 2nd year WRs Green-Beckham and Tyler Lockett providing excellent depth.  Greg Olsen is a rock solid TE and should be top 5 yet again.  Team F will be in contention if the RB situation can work itself out.

Team G:

Another solid team that isn’t spectacular, but should contend each and every week.  Blake Bortles showed his potential and pairing him with Mariota gives big QB upside. The RBs aren’t spectacular, but Rawls and Stewart should both have a firm role and get carries.  Players like Collins, McKinnon, and Perkins all have upside if they get the carries, but could flame out.  The WRs are very good with a duo of Hopkins/Landry to carry the team.  While Moncrief and Floyd should both give good bench upside.  TE is well set with Walker/Ertz.

Team H:

This team seems to have went the other way and built a solid RB group with a WR group that has a nice mix of upside and veteran presence.  Tom Brady and Jameis Winston are a very good duo.  David Johnson should get the role in Arizona and take control while DeMarco Murray has to be used more in his capacity.  The 3rd RB is a bit more iffy, but Karlos Williams, Buck Allen, and David Cobb should all have opportunities.  AJ Green and Brandin Cooks are a nice 1-2 punch, and DJax/Torrey Smith give veteran bye week fill-ins.  Nelson Agholor and Davante Adams both have upside.  Tyler Eifert, Martellus Bennett, and Antonio Gates provide excellent TE options.

Team I:

Taking Rob Gronkowski can hurt a team overall, but this team seems to have turned out really well.  Brees and Eli Manning aren’t very exciting, but they should get the job done.  Doug Martin, Jeremy Hill, and Dion Lewis all should see action and are a fine trio while DeAngelo Williams gives bench upside if Le’Veon Bell gets hurt.  The WRs aren’t overly inspired with Sammy Watkins, Doug Baldwin, and Golden Tate, but guys like Kamar Aiken and Willie Snead could emerge as well.  TE is tremendous with Gronk and Green.  Overall, this team is well balanced and if one of the vet QBs performs well.

Team J:

This team is built around their QB, TE, and WRs, but the RB situation could be dire.  Aaron Rodgers is great and is all that is needed at QB, but Andy Dalton/Tony Romo are good depth.  At RB, Matt Forte and Alfred Morris are going to new teams, so it is a major risk.  Matt Jones could take over as the starter and provide a good option.  None of those players are guaranteed though and the rest of the RB depth is mediocre at best.  WRwise, Dez and Edelman are a nice combo, while Crabtree should stay consistent, but there is little to not depth.  Travis Kelce should be consistent in his approach.  If Forte and Morris go to a good situation, this team could do great.  If they don’t, they may really struggle at RB.

Team K:

This team has a good QB and B depth, but the rest of the team is really lacking.  Cam Newton showed how he can win fantasy games, and he should set them at RB.  RB is very good.  The Atlanta duo, CJ Anderson, Ameer Abdullah, and Latavius Murray are all viable RB 2-3 options.  Add in underrated Theo Riddick and James White, and this group is phenomenal.  The WR situation is very iffy at best.  Martavis Bryant and Jordan Matthews are inconsistent and the depth is pretty bad.  Unless there is a big boost form one of the young guys like Corey Coleman or Jaelen Strong, the WRs will struggle.  Gary Barnidge had a great year last year, but tough to be relied on.  Eric Ebron and Jesse James are nice upside options though and could really break through this year.  If they find WR help and get lucky at TE, this could work, but it needs big breaks.

Team L:

This team has plenty of receiving upside in .5 PPR, but there is plenty of risk.  The QB situation is among the bottom 2 of the league, but Derek Carr should develop and Alex Smith is a fine platoon QB to stream.  The RBs have upside with Jamaal Charles and Ryan Mathews as pass catching backs, but Chris Ivory will need a good situation for RB2 numbers.  There is a lot of RB risk here.  The WRs are among the best in the league.  Allen Robinson, Keenan Allen, and Mike Evans are all dynamic, while upside risks like Josh Gordon and Kevin White are great shots to take.  Jimmy Graham may bounce back and Jason Witten is a consistent option if he doesn’t.

Team Power Rankings:

Championship Contenders:

1.  Team C (A well balanced team with good depth all around.  May not be dynamic enough to win the whole league, but should have consistent wins/points)

2.  Team E (if the QB platoon works, there is enough at RB, WR, and TE to win high scoring match-ups and be a championship contender)

3.  Team F (Needs some RB help, but overall should put up big WR and TE points every week and be in the running for the title)

4.  5.  Team I (Pretty balanced plus Gronk.  As long as the RBs stay healthy, they will compete.  If there are issues, may be on the outside looking in)

5.  Team L (Needs to find a QB, but there is enough PPR upside, especially at WR to outscore opponents and compete for a title)

6.  Team D (Needs a young RB breakout, but the rest of the roster is very solid.  Could be #1 or #11 depending on that RB2-3 spot)

7.  Team H (Really good starting lineup, but depth is lacking.  With healthy, could be a top 3 team, but will need some good breaks)

Needs Some Help:

8.  Team B (TE REALLY hurts, and their depth is mediocre at best.  If starting lineup hits potential, it could work)

9.  Team G (Will need some good landing spots for rookies and break outs from Bortles & Rawls to compete for a title)

10.  Team J (Needs some FA luck from Forte & Morris, but the bench is very weak)

11. Team A (Lack of RB depth will be killer and TE is a mess, but Luck & Brown could carry through)

12. Team K (RBs look good, but WR and TE is just way too weak.  Will struggle no matter what their RBs do)

Thanks, Shane! Nice write up.

I don't think I realized how stacked Team L's WRs are. That group could be ridiculous.

Hail, hail…
