anyone done em?? MAN they are so fun!!!
Such a different experience from "drawing" the 6 spot, knowin you have ZERO chance at foster/mccoy/rice and doing countless mocks…
everyone is on equal footing, just about how you want to build your team…I love it.
I'm in one auction league, first time ever was last year.
This year my plan was to go super cheap at QB (just wait…lol), spend the VAST majority on top RBs, and wait and go cheap/value on how deep WR this year was. You get 200 points, don't have to fill your whole roster. In other words, you COULD bid 200 on Calvin and call it a day.
check this out:
Roeth – ($1….11 guys has QBs and I just kept naming all skill players who would go for 30+ draining other guys points left, etc. end of the day, everyone ran out of money but everyone forgot about Roeth. Wanted Ryan/Romo/Eli on the "cheap" but all went for too much…for point of reference Brees and Rodgers both went for 60 and I got Roeth for 1. lol. I also have a pending WW claim for Cutler. May start him Week 1 vs Indy over Roeth, we'll see.)
Rice – $73
Mcfadden – $69
SSmith – $19
ABrown – $13
Flex: TSmith – 9$
Rudolph – $1
Bryant – $1
GB D – $1
BN – Spiller $1
BN – DWilson $1
BN – Ingram $6 (or flex)
BN – Cutler
thoughts? non ppr, 6pt passing TD, everything else standard
I'll rotate TSmith and Ingram prob at flex, given non ppr, I could end up playing Ingram at flex more often I suppose.

You have a boner for Rapistberger every year, and I absolutely hate him this year as more than anything but a backup QB or bye-week plug in. Why? "The Steelers have thrown the ball 75 times in preseason action compared to 107 run plays. Preseason is a tough barometer, but it's obvious where Haley's thoughts are currently." (regarding Steelers new offense.) Granted, getting him on the cheap at $1 is nice, but I really think Cutler will end up being your weekly starter if you get him. Can't believe he didn't get picked up actually.
That said, Rice and McFadden will pretty much run over everyone for the first 7 weeks of the season, until McFadden sprains his labia and misses 5 games. Since it is Non PPR, at least you have Ingram to lean on. I also like Steve Smith, a lot of people are down on him this year and he has potential to finish top 10 with Cam at QB.
I like your strategy but I personally would have gone Rice and Rodgers/Brees/Brady in a 6pt TD league. You have decent value guys in Ingram and Steve Smith, you could mop up with a stud QB. That said, Cutler should surprise a lot of people this year with Brandon Marshall at his side again. So, given that, I think you would have done more damage with a Rice/McCoy or Rice/Foster combo. Time will tell, but we'll see at the end of the season.

yeah still I walked out with 2 out of the clear top 4 backs, but yes I wish I had mccoy or foster instead of mcfadden.
if you HONESTLY believe the Steelers are going to RUN more with Dwyer/Redman/Aguirre at running back, you're literally insane. Roeth is gonna chuck it this year with wallace/brown/sanders…Haley has finished in the top something high lol (2? 3?) in passing with Arizona and he knows where his strengths are on this team.
At least I have a reason to like Roeth this year…
You like Rivers to bounce back this year, behind an awful OL, missing his LT and losing VJax, losing Vincent Brown in preseason, and a workhorse RB they are gonna feed like no one's business when he's back…
Good luck with that…god I love you

I like both auction and snakes…
Yes it's true that you have a chance at everyone in an auction, but in the real NFL only the Colts had a chance at Luck.
I'd have a hard time deciding, but think I'd still prefer the snake vs auction. I like being able to predict who will be where and hope a guy like Roeth slides to the 9th (where I took him), and realize you have to reach for a guy you might like in the 5th.

Gbin I have commished a auction league for 9 years now .. Its a great way to draft … Everyone of my friends from redraft leagues who have joined now love it ! Its the perfect balance of drafting (My Opinion) .. I also do keeper and redraft league … by far I think the Auction format is the best way to go …………. As far as your team .. really like your starting players ! Personally I would have tried to add a more consistent #3 RB ( Doug Martin ?) …. WR position was so deep this year you could have got that RB and still got a reliable wr in the late rounds .. CB
