The new league year is open, and the Dolphins have fired the first shot. Jay Glazer of FOX reports that they have traded receiver Brandon Marshall to the Bears for a 2012 third-round pick and a 2013 third-round pick.
The move reunites Marshall with quarterback Jay Cutler. The spent three years together in Denver.
It also clears Marshall out of Miami, in advance of the potential arrival of Peyton Manning, who reportedly had misgivings about playing with Marshall.

I cant see Marshall getting a first or 2nd round pick.. I think a 3rd should have been good… maybe send them one of your bum WR… but 2 thirds… anyone else think this is little High
I think this will help CUTLER… & his value goes up for me

a little high?? as in too much to give up?
dude is a legit #1, 80 rec, 1200+ and 8 TD….would have been double digit TD if not for some dropsies in the red zone…
I can't believe they didn't get at least a 2nd out of the deal.

Well, with the fighting charge now, Dolphins may have just unloaded him before an upcoming suspension.

I hadn't heard about the latest Marshall incident until now. Here's an item posted at Roto. The underlined portion likely made the trade easier to take a risk on and who knows, it may have actually brought compensation that the Phin's were looking for down.
The New York Post reports Bears WR Brandon Marshall "slugged" a woman at a Chelsea nightclub early last Sunday morning.
The incident allegedly started as a fight between Marshall and another football player. Marshall ended up "cold-cocking" the woman in the left eye, though it's not clear if the punch was meant for her or was misdirected in the melee. During the donnybrook, Marshall's wife was hit in the face by a thrown bottle. It's not known that the Dolphins knew about the incident prior to the Marshall trade. Per FOX Sports' Alex Marvez, Marshall's contract clause guaranteeing $6 million of his $9.3 million salary voids if he's suspended by the NFL. Given his long and sordid history of violence, that's a distinct possibility.

So the last team these two played for was left in rubble cause they are HUGE Madonas… & Need to be pampered… Culter may have grown some.. but MARSHALL is a train wreck that will make TO & MOSS proud… to bad he will not have resurgence like they had
seems like high price for me

Sounds like the dolphins were smart to get rid of marshall. What did they pay to get him?
I doubt this will help cutler's ff value much. Cutler is still a INT machine and if Martz couldn't help him I don't know what can.

IIRC the Dolphins sent 2 second-round picks to the Broncos to aquire Marshall. They then signed him to a 5 year, $47 million deal.

Yup, and they wanted a 2nd in return. Took equal value to that.
