I think, as a writer who's written similar articles, I would tell you to be wary of someone trying to sell you something that's against the norm. I won't pretend to know these guys, as I haven't done nearly as much research on the rookies this year as I normally do, but from everything I have seen and heard, Richardson's supposed to be the real deal. Now…normally I can make an argument that situation and opportunity mean more than talent in fantasy, but I think Richardson wins that one as well. I think this article is highly undervaluing Blount. He's terrible in the passing game, which is why I imagine they went and got Martin, but he's just what a ground-attack coach is going to want…someone big, strong, and stupid who will just keep hurling themselves against the defense play after play. Martin will see touches, but I don't think it will be enough to equal Richardson even if he does struggle a bit as the focal point (keep in mind, Cleveland still has an excellent Oline, and a complete lack of offense didn't stop Hillis from being the bee's knees)
All in all, it's very possible that Martin's numbers end up higher, but unlikely, and if so will be due to injury or due to a small handful of monstrous games, because unless there is an injury, he almost can't be consistent. I never think it's a bad idea to add a talented rookie in the hopes of panning out, but I certainly wouldn't take Martin over Richardson…not even if Martin was the starter.

i'm on record here as calling Martin a beast, but no way do i pick him over Richardson in a redraft, or even a keeper.
for one, situations. TB has an incumbent who people may regret dismissing out of turn. Blount, at his best, is very much the sort of RB that Schiano would design for his team – a pounder who gets better the more he's used. also, since the Bucs lockeroom culture turned ugly in general last yr, i believe there is value in giving the kid a 2nd chance in '12. while, i dont think Martin will want for touches, he might never leave COP status in Tampa this season, making him a RB3 at best. Richardson's got Cle alllllllllllll to himself.
i also dont think that one can dismiss that, in an era where teams are letting the 1st RB off the board drop in the 20s of 1st rds, that teams were scrambling to get Richardson in the Top 5 this year. says a lot -

Yeah, blount has been having a great minicamp and I get the feeling it'll be rbbc in tampa bay. Richardson doesn't have that type of competition in cleveland. Also richardson faced stiffer competition in college than baldwin.

Thanks for the invite bird. I'm actually contemplating taking a well deserved year off. Just transferred to the U to finish off my bachelor, and the classes are kickin my butt, leaving me very little time for research on football. I'm actually contemplating dropping all of my leagues, even my long-standing ones, for a year, and see where I am next year. Money and time are two things I just don't have much of at the moment. So, thanks, but I will pass for this year.
