I am wondering who you guys see taking over the RB job in Burgh… is Rainey going to get a shot? does he have the skills… Dwyer was clearly behind Redman & only got his shot when he went down… is that the same?
I also guess you could see Mendy coming back in month to run show

IMO chris rainey is a 3rd down/change of pace rb and not a featured guy.
From what I've been ready it sounds like mendy should be ready by the start of the season but if not redman will be the featured rb.

I'll be very surprised if Mendenhall plays Week 1. That was a late ACL tear. Maybe PUP.
I think it is Redman's game with Dwyer as the primary back-up. Rainey/Batch compete for 3rd roster spot.

Based on my admittedly limited observations, I'm of the opinion that Dwyer is more of an every-down back than Redman. Dwyer was clearly below Redman on the depth-chart last season but there is a significant learning-curve in picking up blocking assignments and Dwyer was a full season behind.
If Mendenhall misses significant time (& it's looking like he might), don't be surprised if they come out of camp with Dwyer carrying the load n' Redman as a 3rd down/GL back. This isn't etched in stone by any means, but it's a real possibility and one you should keep in mind when making plans for Steeler RBs. Batch & Rainey will get a good looking over but no matter how well they do the current Steeler brass has never proven to be wowed by camp darlings (which both Redman & Dwyer were) in the past.

Latest word is mendy has been participating in running drills and may not miss much, if any, time.
