Torn ACL, of course suggs is saying he'll be back this season and personally I like him and hope he does defy conventional wisdom.

It's actually a torn Achilles tendon, not an ACL.
Suggs is saying that it's only a partial tear and that he hopes to be able to return sometime during the season. But at this point, I'm not sure if that's just his opinion or if it's based on his doctor's estimate.

Ah, thanks for the correction.
According to the latest update, one doctor he saw says it's partially torn and another doctor he saw says it's fully torn. Suggs is saying it'll take 3 – 4 months to heal and he'll be ready by November at the latest. But I'd imagine he's going off the belief it's partially torn.

I haven't followed modern sports medicine over the past handful of years, but as far as I remember, if it's fully torn at his age (considering the wear and tear factor), he might be done, or certainly won't play at the same level again.
Would be a shame, as I have always liked him too. Always thought he never got enough pub from playing on a team with Lewis and Reed.

SUggs is a scary man… as a Burg fan i am very afraid every time he is on the field vs steez… i thought he was just starting to show his full level with reed&lewis starting to age… if Balt steels NYG LB Asi_uma i dont think they miss a beat… but i do not think a rookie will fill suggs shoes
