Not sure anyone will really read it… I came on board with Furball in 2005, and enjoyed the ride of the message board as we were forced to move from place to place.

I left fantasy football this season after 10 years. I started this game late as I was married, out of school, and already a diehard fan. Fantasy took my NFL obsession to a new level and I really enjoyed the two for the first 5-6 years. Than as previously stated it seemed to take the fun out of it. Last year while watching every play of two terrible teams to see where my opponents WR was lined up and pray he wouldn't get any catches, made me think even more about what I was doing.

The realization I was to "into" it, plus some real deep BS other owners were giving me pushed me over to quit. I can't blame the other owners to much. In 9 seasons of my very competitive 12 team friends and family league, I had been in the super bowl 5 times winning it all 4 times, missing the playoffs only twice. Even the keeper team I left the league with was set up and the new owner already wrapped up the #1 seed. The BS was over my success, and I just didn't want to deal with it anymore.

So my 1st season without has been a huge success. I don't miss it one bit. My friendships with the league mates has actually gotten stronger (for the ones I want to be friends with), and it hasn't been weird to talk about fantasy. For me I'm staying away, but it would be very easy and better to come back.

What I'm saying is don't be afraid to take a year off if you are feeling burnt out. It looks to be easy to get back into, or perhaps you'll take my road and add year #2 to the mix.

Missing my old fantasy freaks! I have continued to read about fantasy, and still chime in on a few other boards. I'll be honest in seeing Fanball's forums deplete over the moves also added to me checking out. I think in around 2009 I started to enjoy the message boards more than the game itself.

Merry Christmas, Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy Holidays to all!
